Southport still

The pic above was taken the other day when I seemed to be at a loss as to how to post all my pics on one blog post. I decided to post each pic as a blog post which in a sense has given me the opportunity to reflect on my week here.

Atkinson arts centre & cafe was one of my bases during my stay and today, my last day I am posting at cafe Nero which has been my first daily port of call.

Although I have welcomed a break before the clocks go forward at the end of the week I will be glad to get home. I developed a cough and cold on the second day of my seven day stay. The weather fortunately has been quite mild and I brought warm clothing with me.

Both bases have been quite impersonal (not much like Kairaba cafe in Gambia) Ggenerally I have felt more isolated than when in Gambia even though Southport is only 20 kms away from home. This sense of isolation has been compensated by nightly visits to a local Italian restaurant where I felt a part of the family. I do think that English hospitality at times leaves a lot to be desired.
